Strong addition in the ‘18V Power for All System’: First cordless trim router from Bosch for DIYers
Ideal for milling edges, slots, and creative motifs

Bosch is enhancing the market for DIY tools with the AdvancedTrimRouter 18V-8, an extremely powerful and compact cordless trim router. It is also the first trim router in the '18V Power for All System' which now includes a sought-after application among passionate DIYers: milling edges, slots and creative motifs. The ‘18V Power for All System’ currently comprises around 40 DIY, garden, and home appliances – and even extends beyond the Bosch range with additional partners in the cross-brand ‘Power for All Alliance’. All tools – from rotary hammer to lawn mower and even vacuum cleaner – can be operated with the same 18V lithium-ion battery and only one charger. This saves DIYers space and money and protects the environment.

Unique thanks to a combination of power and compactness

Rounding over wooden edges on self-made tables, adding profiles such as a 45-degree bevel to wooden strips, milling slots in the wooden shelf for the back panel, creating signs with lettering such as ‘Welcome Home’: With the AdvancedTrimRouter 18V-8 DIYers can rely on a powerful tool which is extremely efficient, durable, and maintenance-free thanks to its brushless motor. All work is literally easy, because the cordless trim router weighs just 1.1 kilograms and is comfortable to operate. With a 2.5 Ah battery and a 6-mm round over bit, up to 100 m of edges can be processed per battery charge. The basis for this is an optimum coordination of key components such as the motor and gearbox combined with an intelligent electronic control system called the ‘Syneon Technology’. Only Bosch offers this interaction between motor electronics and battery. Depending on the requirement, the cordless trim router therefore always provides optimum performance and maximum endurance for each project. Those who need even more runtime and power can use the new PowerPlus battery with 4.0 Ah. Thanks to the latest cell technology, this battery offers 60 percent more power than the 2.5 Ah battery or the same performance as a standard 4.0 Ah battery but is much smaller and lighter.

Also in the focus: Easy handling and functional accessories

The combination of power and compactness makes the AdvancedTrimRouter 18V-8 unique in the DIY segment. The focus is also on easy handling: Both the depth and speed can be adjusted quickly and easily. There are six speed settings ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 rpm. The cordless trim router therefore always offers the best motor performance for the task at hand. The transparent baseplate enables the user to see the workpiece at all times while the integrated LED always ideally illuminates the work area. It is very easy to mill slots with the supplied parallel guide. Bosch also supplies a bit adjustment aid for optimal rounding so that round over bits can be set flush to the surface. In addition, DIYers who prefer a clean and low dust working environment, can use the adapter to attach a dust extraction system.

The AdvancedTrimRouter 18V-8 will be available from February 2022 onwards. The Bosch range of accessories includes various router sets, for example with slot router bits, engraving bits, and milling router bits. All stated prices are recommended retail prices including VAT.

Bosch presents tomorrow’s mobility today
A light, airy, minimalistic design, a futuristic outer shell made of display screens and glass, and a spacious interior – that is how architects might describe a novel structure, but in actuality the description also fits a completely new class of vehicle and a new kind of mobility: driverless electric shuttles that glide almost silently through city centers and are seamlessly connected with their environment.
